The most affordable of the cool robot vacuum cleaners. iLIFE T10S review

0

Maybe you want to get a robot vacuum cleaner, but you think that most of them are too expensive for you. This is a common practice, because many models, including those that we talked about, are quite expensive. It is very difficult to buy something with lidar, an application and normal functionality. We suggest not to despair and pay attention to iLIFE T10S. It’s not the best robot vacuum cleaner in the world, but it definitely deserves attention. This is a multi-purpose gadget that can both sweep and mop floors, and it has an additional self-cleaning station.

iLIFE T10S robot vacuum cleaner review

iLIFE T10S is a very stylish and pleasant accessory for any interior. This is made possible by the iridescent blue color and interesting finish on the top of the lidar cover. It very much resembles a vinyl record with its circular tracks. And from under it sticks out the orange case of the lidar itself, which contrasts very strongly with the rest of the case, but does not spoil it. This is a fine line of emphasis and harmony. Like, for example, beautiful bright red brakes inside the wheel of an expensive sports car. Don’t confuse it with cheap overlays or a simple paint job in a bright color.

Now let’s look at the summary characteristics of the gadget and continue to understand its capabilities.

Handsome Robot Vacuum Cleaner

In addition to the lidar, there are only two blue-lit buttons on the body of the vacuum cleaner and a blue Wi-Fi indicator, indicating that the device is connected to the network.

On the bottom of the iLIFE T10S are two rotating side brushes that sweep debris under the central part where the roller brush is installed. She is already collecting dust and debris in a container. The onboard waste bin is integrated with the water tank and removed from the back of the robot cleaner.

It is important to emphasize that the sweeping brushes are located exactly on both sides, unlike many even more expensive models, the creators of which for some reason went along the path of following the fashion for one brush.

The wheels have a good rubber coating and do not slip on the surface, even when you need to move over an obstacle. For example, thresholds and other irregularities are easily overcome by a vacuum cleaner if their height does not exceed 18 mm.

To simply start the vacuum cleaner, you need to turn it on by pressing the power button for a couple of seconds, and when it boots up, press it to send it to clean. In parallel with this, he will scan the space, making up his map.

What’s Included

In a bright and convenient box you will find the vacuum cleaner itself, two pairs of side brushes, a replaceable air filter, a cleaning tool for the vacuum cleaner, a mop head, a spare cloth for the mop head, a self-cleaning charging station and two garbage bags with a self-cleaning station.

Robot vacuum cleaner with wet cleaning

For wet cleaning, you need to install a nozzle with a mop from the bottom of the container. This is done easily – you need to press the two tabs on the sides or just snap it. The mechanism is very high quality and pleasant. All buttons are spring-loaded and the connections are very tight, secure and well-fitted – no force is required at all.

Water is poured into the hole at the top of the combined container. It is necessary to move the plug and carefully pour water under it. After that, install the container back in the back.

Is the robot vacuum very noisy?

During operation, the iLIFE T10S robot vacuum cleaner has a low noise level of 65 dB. At medium power, the robot will continuously clean for almost two hours. This is more than enough to dust even the largest apartment. If the battery is low, the indicators on the top of the iLIFE T10s will flash red and the robot will return to its base to recharge.

If the charge is still not enough for a full cleaning, the robot will remember the place where it stopped, charge and continue from this place. So cleaning is guaranteed to be carried out completely.

The robot does an excellent job of dodging obstacles. And thanks to the narrow body (320 mm), it will even pass between the legs of chairs. But miracles do not happen and you should not scatter things on the floor. He will simply suck in all sorts of little things, and he can drag the charging cables that lie on the floor from place to place. In my case, for example, he caught the extension cord with a side brush and pulled the wire out from behind the sofa. This happens, and this must be taken into account when using any robot vacuum cleaner.

Deep carpet cleaning

When the iLIFE T10S moves from hard floor to carpet, the suction power increases to a maximum of 3000 Pa. At the same time, the noise level also increases. But usually such a gadget works when there is nothing at home, so you should not worry too much about it. But cleaning the carpet will be much more thorough, and it is there that the main dust, pollen and other contaminants, including allergenic ones, accumulate. When the robot returns to the hard floor, the suction power will decrease again. So it will turn out well to collect garbage from the floor, and not to consume a lot of battery.

On some carpets, due to the fact that the robot vacuum cleaner rolls back and forth, directional bends of the villi are created. It looks like markings on a football field, when it seems to alternate with darker or lighter green stripes. Naturally, this does not spoil the carpet, but it looks pretty funny.

Since this model does not have the ability to lift the squeegee at the back, it will become a bit damp when moving over the carpet, but this is not critical, as this level of moisture dries in just a few minutes. Someone, on the contrary, will like it, because in this way it gets to collect even more of some types of garbage. For example, pet hair.

Robot vacuum cleaner with app

An application called ILIFEHOME has been updated several times since its introduction in 2018, and it shows – I did not find any bugs in it. Scan the QR code in the manual or download the Tuya smart app from the app store. After you create an account, you can easily add a device using the plus icon in the corner or the button in the center of the screen. The main thing is that your Wi-Fi operates at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. It’s a pity that they didn’t bring support for 5 GHz networks, but this is a common thing even for premium models that are many times more expensive than the iLIFE T10S.

I can’t say what it was connected with, but at first I couldn’t connect the vacuum cleaner to my home network, but after that I tried it in another house, and everything worked the first time. I left it there for testing.

The robot cleaner can be configured in the app, but before you can access all the features, you will have to wait while it scans the room and maps it. The generated maps will be detailed and accurate. You can label different rooms and specify how many times you want them to be cleaned per pass and how much water you want to spend on wet cleaning. A full tank holds 240 ml of water.

You can mark different areas in the app and clean different areas of the house at different times of the day, or clean places more frequently, like the hallway, where there is usually more dirt in the form of sand and shoe dust. You can set a schedule to automatically clean up the entire space, or you can specify a named area to clean up. Since this is a universal system, the robot control can be tied to the Yandex home and run through Alice.

The app keeps track of how worn the consumables are and how many hours they can still be used before being advised to replace them. This is a useful feature if you forget to service your appliances regularly.

Vacuum cleaner with self-cleaning

The onboard trash can holds a large amount of dust, but the main thing is that it is just enough for one time. Indeed, after each cleaning, when the robot reaches the charging station, the entire contents of the container will be sucked into the self-cleaning station in which the bag is installed. You can either throw it away after a few weeks (its volume is enough), or carefully gut it and use it further. It will last 2-3 times for sure. The procedure is a little dusty, but it works – I did it.

The self-cleaning station works as it should. True, it is quite noisy, and when it turns on, it resembles an ordinary vacuum cleaner with a hose in volume. This is the only way to completely remove the garbage from the container. To do this, the robot connects to the station not from the front, as is usually the case, but from the back.

Who needs a robot vacuum cleaner

And now let’s think about in which case this robot vacuum cleaner will suit you and when you want to buy it. Here are some criteria:

  • Do you need a multifunctional sweeping and mopping robot?
  • You want the robot to increase suction when moving to carpet
  • You don’t want to empty the dust container every time after cleaning

It is worth refusing to buy if you are worried that the carpet will get a little wet during wet cleaning of the rest of the floor. More reasons to refuse to buy, especially for that kind of money, I do not see. The connectivity issues I’ve experienced are a one-time occurrence caused by some unique individual incompatibility.

Having an app only adds weight to the model in terms of usability. Let now many models have something similar, but not all of them can be controlled by voice and not all of them are so well optimized.

Should I buy iLIFE T10S

Summing up, I will say that iLIFE T10S is a modern robot vacuum cleaner that you can trust to clean your home. It has many worthy competitors, but many of them are more expensive. And if you manage to find something for the same money with such opportunities, will anyone suffer from the expansion of choice?
