Samsung will release Galaxy Buds Pro with AirPods Pro and AirPods Max chips
Borrowing ideas is standard practice in the Android smartphone and accessories market. Despite the fact that direct copying is unacceptable, many manufacturers do not hesitate to take another new product from Apple as a sample and make their product as similar to it as possible. This is how smartphones with bangs, clones of AirPods, and ultrabooks made of metal in the style of MacBook appeared. But while some still allow themselves to create replicas of Apple devices, others, due to their status, cannot afford this. Therefore, they take not by their appearance, but by technology.
Samsung has scheduled the launch of the Galaxy Buds Pro headphones This is an improved version of the classic model that the company is releasing to compete with AirPods. But, unlike the original, the novelty will receive a number of innovations, among which there are exclusive features found only in AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. The leak with information about the features of the Galaxy Buds Pro, oddly enough, was provoked by Samsung itself, adding both their image and a description of new functions to the application for controlling the headphones.
What Galaxy Buds Pro can do
The first thing that awaits the Galaxy Buds Pro is voice recognition. Despite the fact that earbuds previously knew how to interact with a voice assistant, Samsung has now taught them to silence when a conversation is detected. This feature is needed so that users do not have to take off their headphones when talking to others, allowing them to exchange short phrases without stopping playback, but also without drowning out the interlocutor’s words.
The second and, perhaps, the main innovation of the headphones is spatial sound or Spatial Audio. This feature first appeared in AirPods Pro and AirPods Max and is designed to artificially create a three-dimensional panorama of sound, as if changing its direction depending on the direction of the user’s head. Thus, it will be possible to create the feeling of being at a real concert or watch films with a spatial soundtrack and feel the changes in sound depending on the scene. For example, some of the content on Apple TV + supports Spatial Audio.
Well, the third innovation is the balance of sound between the left and right headphones. For most users, this feature will not be useful, but it will come in handy for people with hearing impairments. The fact is that some people have hearing impairment in only one ear, while the other hears either normally or simply better than the other. The balance of the sound will allow you to equalize the volume and intensity of the sound so that the playback in the right and left ears does not dissonant.
Galaxy Buds Pro price
As far as the look of the Galaxy Buds Pro is concerned, they promise to be very similar to the classic model, with a number of minor exceptions that can be seen in the photos above. Obviously Samsung wanted to make its earbuds as little like AirPods as possible, so they chose the bean shape for them. This design is almost entirely recessed into the ear and is held there due to the emphasis on the relief of the auricle. As a result, such headphones are more difficult to knock out of their ears by accidental movement, but on the other hand, Galaxy Buds Pro will be uncomfortable for children and people with non-standard ears.
Now for the price and release dates. Obviously, the Galaxy Buds with the Pro box just can’t be cheap, especially if the classic was priced at $ 150. Most likely, the price of new items will be set at $ 200-220. This is quite justified, given the expanded functional range. True, the Galaxy Buds Pro will be presented only at the beginning of next year, at the presentation with smartphones of the Galaxy S21 line, and they will go on sale approximately by the end of January-beginning of February. The Russian release may be delayed a little longer – until about mid-February.
