Reading mode is one of the most underrated features of Safari. For some reason, many people neglect them, despite the fact that it carries a lot of advantages. Not only does it increase the convenience of perception of the text, making it larger, it also hides all the ads and unnecessary elements of the website so that nothing distracts you from reading. Therefore, in iOS 13, Apple developers decided to make it even easier for users to work with this mode, making it even easier
Forced activation of the reading mode in iOS 13 is performed in the same way as in previous versions of the OS. It is enough for this, being on a web page that supports reading mode, click on a special key that appears in the address bar. But automatic activation has undergone some changes.
How to hide ads on sites in Safari
In order for the reading mode to be activated automatically on all web pages, it is necessary to make a small adjustment:
- Open a compatible web page and click on the “aA” button in the address bar;
- From here, go to the section with the website settings;
- In the window that opens, enable the option to automatically activate the reading mode.
After you enable auto-activation of the reading mode, it will be applied to all compatible web pages of this domain, as well as to subdomains. But you should be prepared for the fact that not all sites support reading mode. In this case, you will have no choice but to consume their contents in the form in which it was proposed by the creator.
Despite the fact that the ability to auto-activate the reading mode is present in iOS 11 and iOS 12, in our opinion, in iOS 13 this function is implemented more logical. If earlier the user had to press and hold the transition key to the mode, which seemed to some quite illogical and non-intuitive step, now for this there is a dedicated key, which will be very difficult to skip.
