0

On Wednesday, January 12, Apple released iOS 15.2.1 and the second iOS 15.3 beta to public testers. It has been more than three weeks since the previous beta 1, and a whole month since the release of iOS 15.2. We hope the developers took a breath and did a good job on the update. As a reminder, you can always join the program by installing a beta profile or enjoying the iOS update for everyone. Here’s what’s new in iOS 15.2.1 and iOS 15.3 beta 2, and how to install them.

The company once again releases minor iOS updates for everyone, and in the update for developers, it does not advertise innovations at all. In iOS 15.2.1, something has been fixed – it’s great.

What’s new in iOS 15.2

Apple has again released an update that does not contain any important innovations. But serious bugs that affected the operation of the iPhone were fixed. For example, these.

  • Messages may not have uploaded photos sent via an iCloud link ;
  • Third-party CarPlay apps may not respond to input.

In addition, a serious bug related to HomeKit was fixed: the connected device had to contain 500,000 characters in the name, and when connected, the iOS device went into an endless reboot.

How to install the iOS 15 update

Update 15.2.1 is already available and weighs only 746 MB: it is definitely worth installing, but subject to certain rules. For example, keep a backup copy so as not to get into trouble and not lose data.

  • Go to Settings, select “General”;
  • Click “Software Update”;
  • Wait for the setup file to appear and click Download and Install.

What’s new in iOS 15.3

There is no information about the changes: most likely, existing errors were fixed, the speed of work on all devices was improved, the algorithms were updated. By the looks of things, the beta builds are minor: the much-awaited universal control feature hasn’t been implemented yet. Let me remind you that it was announced back in June at WWDC, but its release was postponed from autumn until 2022. In addition, Apple has also released new beta versions of watchOS 8.4, tvOS 15.3, and iPadOS 15.3.

If you want to try installing iOS 15.3 beta 2 , you can always do it. Do not forget that installing any update comes with risks – think carefully about whether you want to participate in this.

How to Install the iOS 15.3 Beta

And here is the algorithm of actions that will allow you to install the new beta version of iOS.

  • Follow the link and log in;
  • Select the iOS tab in the window that opens;
  • Click “Register your device”;
  • Next, download the beta profile.
  • Go to Settings – “Profile loaded”;
  • Install it and go to “Software Update”;
  • Wait for the update to appear and install it.

We remind you that the iOS 15.3 beta may not appear immediately – you may have to wait a bit. Keep checking until it appears on the list. Don’t forget to back up your iPhone to restore all your data if something goes wrong. Be sure to create a backup before installing the update.
